Survival basics
Your character has 100 HP, no hunger meter, and a five-second respawn. You don't have to eat to live, but you do have to survive the night.
Health and dying
Damage comes from wolves, skeletons, and the occasional bear. When your HP hits zero you fall over, drop everything you had equipped on the ground where you died, and respawn at the world's spawn point five seconds later with full HP. Your inventory survives — only the items you had in your hand or armor slots scatter — so running back to your death tile to pick them up is a normal part of play.
You heal by eating cooked food (Cooked Meat, Cooked Fish) or by using a Bandage. There's no passive regeneration.
Day and night
A full in-world day takes about 14 minutes of real time. Night runs from 20:00 to 5:00; everything between those is daylight.
- Daytime is for gathering, crafting and exploring. The monsters that bother you are wolves (5-tile aggro) and bears, both of which you'll usually see coming.
- Night is when the skeletons come out. They spawn in the dark, in unlit ground, and roughly one new skeleton appears per in-world hour somewhere within 10–20 tiles of a player. They don't despawn at sunrise — instead, sunlight burns them: 4 damage every second or so until they fall. You can outlast them if you have walls and a campfire.
A campfire lights a 6-tile radius around itself, both visually and for the spawn check — skeletons won't appear inside its glow. Two or three campfires turn a small base into a no-spawn zone.
Critters
| Creature | Behavior | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Rabbit | Wanders, flees from you. | — |
| Deer | Wanders, flees within 3 tiles. | 2 Hide, 1 Raw Meat |
| Fox | Wanders, mildly skittish. | 1 Hide |
| Wolf | Wanders, aggros within 5 tiles, attacks. | 2 Hide, 1 Raw Meat |
| Bear | Wanders, aggros, hits hard. | 3 Hide, 2 Raw Meat |
| Skeleton | Night-only spawn, aggros, attacks. | 1–2 Iron, 1 Rock |
Every kill drops items as ground entities — walk over and click to pick them up.
Cooking
Raw Meat and Raw Fish on their own won't heal you much; cook them first.
- Build a Campfire (Crafting → Placeables) and place it.
- Equip the raw food to your hand (drag it to a quickslot, or click the slot, or press 1–9).
- Stand next to the campfire and click or tap it. The food transforms — Raw Meat becomes Cooked Meat, Raw Fish becomes Cooked Fish.
Cooked food restores meaningfully more health than raw, and the campfire doubles as your skeleton repellent overnight.
A first-night plan
If you've just spawned and don't know what to do: chop a couple of trees, grab a few rocks, craft an Axe and a Wooden Club, then craft a Campfire and place it. As the sky darkens, stay inside the firelight. Iron from skeleton drops becomes the gateway to better weapons and armor on day two.
